It feels like an eternity has gone by since I’ve actually been excited about makeup. This past year I’ve skipped practically every step of my makeup routine besides concealer, brows and mascara. However, glow products are one thing I can’t say no to! Like the NARS Summer Solstice Cheek Duo.
A limited edition highlighter and bronzer duo, that houses two shades from NARS’ core range (Ibiza and Laguna). One swipe creates a golden hue with a brown base and with a subtle touch of shimmer.
Although my beauty buying habits have definitely changed this past year. I would still personally purchase this cheek duo because I don’t already have the two core shades (Ibiza and Laguna) in my makeup collection. $60 CAD for a generously sized pan, justifies the price. Aside from my face, I enjoy a subtle sweep of shimmer across my clavicle and surrounding area and this is absolutely beautiful!
The brown base in this cheek duo allows me to “sun sculpt”, eliminating the need for me to use multiple products. This product applies seamlessly with little transfer and is exactly what I needed for mask-friendly makeup
I recently tried out Laura Mercier’s Sun Kissed Veil Bronzer. Which was a part of Laura Mercier’s Summer launch of their Mediterranean Escape Collection.
Mediterranean Escape Collection was a limited collection and although I’m sharing my thoughts at the end of the season. This is one I couldn’t resist sharing. Plus, it’s still available online and Laura Mercier has a similar product available as well.
The official description says, ‘Go glamorously off the grid with tones and textures inspired by a bohemian meets jetsetter vibe.’ They weren’t kidding. The packaging is mesmerizing and one that will surely instill the urge to travel in you!
I tried out Laura Mercier’s Sun Kissed Veil Bronzer in the shade Riviera Sun.
The Sun-Kissed Veil Bronzer, is a multi purpose product. One that can be used on the eyelids, cheeks, body and applied even to your lips! To create the illusion of a pumper pout! Having gone to the Dominican Republic last month, I wish I had this product with me then!
It has a lightweight balm consistency that provides a beautiful subtle glow. The colour is more warm and apparent on lighter complexions and much more natural appearing on deeper tones. Granted how stunning the sheen is, it can be used year round for achieving the look of glowing skin.
I find applying it with your fingertips is best as it warms up the product. Allowing for a seamless application. This product does not transfer on to any garments.
Having the correct tools for a task makes all the difference. Whether you’re doing an ORIF of the hip or assembling IKEA furniture (haha I know those are two more extreme examples but you get what I mean). When it comes to makeup, I’ve found having a set of quality brushes makes the world of a difference. Don’t get me wrong, there are so many tips and tricks to make do with what you have. But when you find a product that works well for you without fail. You’ll reach for them time and time again. Two such products are the Make Up For Ever Artist Face Colour & Lustrous Brush Set.
When I first saw the MAC Brooke Candy 2016 Collection, I lost it. Very rarely are there collections that I love every single product in it and that appeals to so many different complexions. The Brooke Candy collection is a second collaboration, the first was in the Fall of 2015. The collection is beautifully packaged in gunmetal casing with splattered paint effects. View Post
