If you’re reading this, I’m sure we have at least one thing in common. That is the love for makeup. So we can both agree that this beauty addiction makes a dent in our wallets. The two things I consider before making any purchases are 1. Is this product versatile? 2. Will it last me a while before I have to replenish it? Two products that answer yes to both of these questions are Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Skin Booster Serum and Microfinishing Loose Powder.

MUFE’s Ultra HD Skin Booster Serum was created to “give skin a plumped look, prep skin for makeup, and hydrate to smooth the appearance of fine lines”.

It comes packaged in a glass bottle with medicine dropper dispenser which is always convenient when working with serums and oils.IMG_1829

The Skin Booster Serum helps moisturize and prep my skin for makeup application. Just like a primer oil. If silicone based face primers aren’t working for you, do try an oil primer. However my favourite way to use the Ultra HD Skin Booster Serum is by mixing a few drops of the serum with any of my matte finish foundations. This way I am able to still use my matte foundations in the colder/drier weather without it clinging to dry patches.

If you add about two drops of the MUFE Skin Booster Serum with one small drop of foundation. You’ll have a tinted moisturizer that provides slightly more coverage than a traditional tinted moisturizer. Perfect for when you want to give your face a wash of colour and for a quick makeup application when you’re running errands or going to the gym. Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Skin Booster Serum retails for $51 CAD.

I was introduced to the Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder a few years ago and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I found it so convenient to travel with as well as apply. So when I tried out MUFE’s Microfinishing Loose Powder I had high hopes from the start, assuming it was the same formula, only difference being it wasn’t pressed into a compact.

The Microfinishing Loose Powder comes packaged in a generously sized jar. MUFE has included a sifter which prevents an excessive amount of product being dispensed at one time.IMG_1819IMG_1824

The loose powder is finely milled and I’ve found myself needing to use less than I normally would use of other translucent powders. I haven’t experienced any issues with flash back or a white cast in pictures.

I brush on MUFE’s Loose Powder on to any areas I have highlighted with a concealer (under the eyes, center of my temple and chin). I really like the smooth airbrushed matte finish it provides.

This jar will last you a very long time and definitely justifies the price. Make Up For Ever Microfinishing Loose Powder retails for $44 CAD.IMG_1837
