Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

I ecstatically bring to you my thoughts on the Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation. When I first saw this foundation in the ‘Recommended for You’ section of Sephora’s website, I was immediately intrigued. Maybe because of its non-traditional foundation shape.

The range consists of 29 shades, that does a good job of covering fair to deep complexions. Although the tan to deep section could definitely use some more additions!

I tried out the shades Y340 & Y360. Both have yellow undertones.

Marc Beauty’s Shameless Foundation is said to be a hydrating, medium coverage foundation. It contains SPF 25. The official description states that it has an oil free formula and the product is self setting. With promises of 24 hour wear. I was stoked to put it to the test for at least 14 hours that is.

Beginning with the packaging, it’s shaped almost like a pebble. Such a design is new for Marc Beauty products, as they are known for their luxe packaging.

Don’t get me wrong, the plastic packaging still holds the standard amount of product and is AMAZING to travel with. Plus there’s no room for shattering.

The medium coverage provides a fresh, glow-y finish. Perfect for everyday wear. It blends effortlessly with whatever tool you choose to use. I prefer using a flat top semi-dense kabuki brush.

Why I personally like the Shameless Foundation is that, although I don’t get 100% coverage for my blemishes. The dewy formula mixes incredibly with my dry and textured skin. In my opinion, acne and matte foundations just don’t go together. As they just further enhance the imperfections by clinging to bumps, uneven and flaking skin.

If you’re looking for a one step, full coverage foundation, then this probably isn’t for you. Although you can build up the coverage, it still remains on the sheer, luminous end.

You definitely can’t leave the Shameless Foundation as is, without setting it. As it’s guaranteed to crease and gather. After it is set, it will continue to look better as the hours go by!

Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation retails for $56 CAD and is available online and in-store at Sephora.

Fenty Pro Filt’R Concealer

Fenty Pro Filt’R Concealer

Today I’m sharing my thoughts on one of Fenty’s newest releases. The Fenty Pro Filt’R Concealer. To accompany the amazing Pro Filt’R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. Which is still highly raved about, after being released in 2017.

The Fenty Pro Filt’R Concealer is available in an astounding 50 shades! Now, that’s what you call a truly inclusive shade range!

I tried out the shades: 220, 235 & 250.

Let’s talk packaging. The Concealers are encased in aesthetically pleasing tubes, made from a non-slip material. Grip is important to those like myself, who have accidentally dropped at least a dozen glass tubes of concealer in their lifetime. So 10/10 from me for this one.

The formula is creamy and provides a FULL coverage, matte finish. It’s a one step correct and conceal kind of product. As it’s able to both conceal discolouration and brighten tired/dull looking skin. The coverage is intense and hence why you only need a very small amount of product to get the job done. I don’t use my normal swiping application method as I do with other concealers but rather apply 3 small dots to the area that I’m concealing.

I personally prefer dewier formulations when it comes to concealer but then I have to compromise the wear time. Although the Pro Filt’R Concealer is completely matte. I’m able to make it work for me, by generously prepping my skin before application. I can get away without setting the Pro Filt’R Concealer and don’t experience any creasing until the 6/7 hour mark.

Fenty Pro Filt’R Concealer retails for $32 CAD and is available online and in store at Sephora.

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded

It goes without saying that the original Urban Decay Naked Palette is iconic. It was a staple product in everyone’s makeup routine, from the time that it released to years after. I got my hands on it in 2012 (if I’m not mistaken) and learned to do brown/black smokey eyes with that very palette! Although the original has been discontinued, Urban Decay has graciously blessed us with the launch of their NEW Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette!

Urban Decay launches the NAKED Reloaded Palette as the glow up version of the original.

Lets start with the packaging of the palette itself. UD has opted to ditch its metallic casing this time around and chosen quite the unique casing (which I have never seen before). A padded fabric with the brands logo in gold is now in place. Considerably lighter and more travel friendly than any other Naked palette.

Naked Reloaded consists of 11 brand new shades and 1 original. They’ve made the outer 4 shades, which are the most used, larger in size. Which is absolutely genius because right off the bat, I can tell I’d hit pan on those first. There are 6 silky mattes, and 6 microfine shimmers and metallics. In terms of pigmentation, the mattes and metallics have equal full coverage colour payoff.

I definitely notice that the shades in the Naked Reloaded palette are more universally flattering. They have ditched the makeup brush to allow for larger pans, which I personally love! As I’m always losing the brushes that come alongside eyeshadow palettes.

The launch of Urban Decay’s Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette will be at the following retailers with the mentioned dates. It will retail for $55 CAD.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer

Make Up For Ever recently launched their Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Self- Setting Concealers! It’s always an exciting moment whenever MUFE adds to their Ultra HD line up! I tried out a few shades over the last few weeks and have finally sat down to write my thoughts.

Available in 22 shades, the new Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer is best described as a medium to full, buildable coverage concealer, with a natural finish. Make Up For Ever’s official description states that it diffuses light and provides up to 12 hours of creaseless wear.

The Ultra HD self-setting concealer has a part fluid and cream consistency. This provides you with a bit of extra time to perfect the application of your concealer.

You’ve probably heard beauty addicts say that a product ‘blends like a dream’ countless times. However, there is no better way to describe the blend-ability of MUFE’s Self-Setting Concealer, than just that. It effortlessly blends into the skin, regardless of what tool you choose to use. Whether a sponge, MUFE’s concealer brush or your fingers. You WILL get a seamless finish.

MUFE’s 176 Concealer Brush pictured below retails for $35 CAD.

It has a luminous finish that isn’t short lived. The skin around my under eyes is incredibly dry and I’ve noticed a much more fresh appearance, even hours down the line.

In regards to the ‘self-setting’ claim, I can vouch that if you have dry to combination skin like myself, it is in fact correct!

I tried out the following shades:

31 Macadamia has a neutral undertone and what I would opt for on a daily basis, for natural glam.

33 Desert has a yellow undertone and ideal for more glam looks, aka when I’m looking to brighten the under eyes a little more than usual, to pair with a bolder eye look.

34 Golden Sand, naturally is the darkest shade out of the three and not suitable for my complexion.

I would really suggest trying this out if you’re someone who likes a natural, luminous finish. Especially for those like my Mom, who is deterred by concealers because of their heavy, cakey appearance but really appreciates the consistency of MUFE’s Self-Setting Concealer.

The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer retails for $35 CAD and is available online and in-store at Sephora.
